It is good to keep in mind when meditating to listen to your body.

Trust your intuition, for example, if you find it more comfortable to keep your eyes open, do not hesitate to do so.

If you feel uncomfortable focusing on the breath then you can put the focus on something else, f.ex. on some object in the room.
