Mindfulness in plain language

The word mindfulness appears all around us today. But what is mindfulness all about? Isn't this just another bubble bursting? I thought so when I first heard it. When I started studying positive psychology, I got a better insight into the theory behind mindfulness and it has certainly changed my life for the better.
